Jose Mourinho hails Sir Alex Ferguson as "the boss of the coaches" and hopes that the Scotsman is still the Manchester United manager when he returns to England.

Jose Mourinho has dismissed suggestions that he wants to manage Manchester United after his tenure at Real Madrid comes to an end.

The Portuguese coach says that he will return to the Premier League once he has finished his job at the Santiago Bernabeu, but hopes that Sir Alex Ferguson is still the United manager then.

"The perfect scenario is when I go there he is still coach," Mourinho told CNN. "Because football will lose a lot when he stops.

"For me, he is the boss. I call him the boss because he is the boss of the coaches and I hope when I go back to English football he is still manager of Manchester United."

Mourinho's current contract with Madrid runs out in 2016.
