David Moyes: 'All derby matches are important'

Manchester United manager David Moyes insists that all of the derby matches that he has been involved in have been important games.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has acknowledged the importance of this weekend's derby with Manchester City.

Moyes will lead United for the first time against their city rivals, but the former Everton boss, who has been involved in Merseyside and Glasgow derbies, has insisted that all local fixtures have similar importance to their respective cities.

The 50-year-old told reporters: "I think that any derby in any big city all over the world is important to your own supporters, and they are important to the players as well.

"Ultimately though, it comes down to what happens at the end of the season, and how many points that you get together to see who is top. We will go there and try to win the three points."

United are currently behind City on goal difference ahead of the match at the Etihad Stadium.
