Michael Owen: 'Arsenal could get best out of Danny Welbeck'

Michael Owen believes that Danny Welbeck will fit in well at Arsenal following his deadline-day move from Manchester United.

Retired footballer Michael Owen believes that Arsenal will "get more" out of Danny Welbeck than Manchester United did during his time at Old Trafford.

The England international signed for the Gunners on transfer deadline day yesterday for a reported £16m fee.

The 23-year-old, who has signed a five-year deal at the Emirates, decided to end his association with United following their capture of Radamel Falcao from Monaco on a season-long loan.

Owen wrote on Twitter: "Arsenal have pulled off a very good signing in Welbeck. He's young, English, fast and someone who Wenger can get more out of.

"People talk about a lack of goals but he's hardly played as a striker at United. He will suit Arsenal."

Welbeck is currently with the England squad ahead of tomorrow's friendly against Norway at Wembley.
