Harry Redknapp denies Gareth Bale injury rumours

Harry Redknapp hints that Gareth Bale will play against Manchester United, despite rumours of a lengthy injury.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has hinted that Gareth Bale is likely to feature for Spurs' Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Wales international was believed to be a doubt for the fixture, but Redknapp has since calmed fears that the winger could be sidelined for up to three weeks.

"That's absolutely a million miles wrong," said Redknapp. "He hasn't even got a tear in his hamstring. It's just a little bit tight but it should be okay.

"It shouldn't be a problem. We will have to wait and see how he is [for the weekend]. Hopefully he should be okay."

Meanwhile, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has recovered from a throat infection and should start for the Red Devils at White Hart Lane.
