Former England and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp claims that Manchester United's players are no longer responding to manager Jose Mourinho.

Former England and Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Manchester United's players are "growing tired" of manager Jose Mourinho's tactics.

United produced a lacklustre performance en route to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, with that disappointment being compounded by near neighbours and defending champions Manchester City winning 6-1 earlier in the day.

Redknapp believes that United's players must envy the attacking style of football played by Pep Guardiola's City side, and warned that Mourinho could be losing the dressing room at Old Trafford.

"United's players no longer seem to be responding to their manager. Eight of this side appeared in the World Cup quarter-finals," Redknapp wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

"Many of them will be thinking, 'Why can't we play Pep Guardiola's brand of football?'

"Already, you get the feeling the players are growing tired of not only their manager's negative football but his outbursts, too."

United will aim to get back to winning ways when they host top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur next Monday night.
