Harry Redknapp: 'Promotion winners as good as Sir Alex Ferguson'

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp believes the feat of promotion achieved by Ian Holloway, Steve Bruce and Malkay Mackay equals that of anything done by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp believes that the achievements of Steve Bruce, Malkay Mackay and Ian Holloway in getting their teams promoted are as good as "anything" won by Sir Alex Ferguson.

All three managers earned their sides a place in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship.

Redknapp wrote in his column in The Sun: "Malky Mackay, Steve Bruce and Ian Holloway fly the flag for Team GB as the managers who got their clubs promoted from the Championship.

"What they have all done is as good as anything Alex Ferguson, Roberto Mancini, Rafa Benitez and Arsene Wenger achieved.

"To get a team promoted is a hell of a task and I believe all three teams have a great chance of staying up next season."

Redknapp's QPR side were relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.
