Wayne Rooney has spoken of his happiness at scoring both goals in Manchester United's 2-1 win over Liverpool this afternoon.
The former Everton striker struck two quickfire goals shortly after the break to seal the victory and render Luis Suarez's late strike for Liverpool a consolation effort.
"It's great to get the goals," Rooney told Sky Sports News. "We're thankful for the three points.
"It's always great to score against Liverpool and I'm sure Evertonians will be celebrating tonight."
United's win has lifted them to the top of the Premier League table.
