Former Manchester United and Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre says that Robin van Persie "won't celebrate" if he scores against Arsenal this weekend.

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie will not celebrate if he manages to find the net against Arsenal this weekend, according to former teammate Mikael Silvestre.

The 29-year-old will face his former club for the first time since he made the controversial move to Old Trafford in the summer.

"Losing him to one of the main rivals is not good and [the fans] have the right to be angry but that is football, you can't keep a player against their will, but he won't celebrate if he scores," Silvestre told BBC Sport.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has called on the Gunners supporters to 'respect' the Netherlands international.
