Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that centre-back Chris Smalling will be available for selection shortly.

The defender is yet to feature for the Red Devils this season due to a broken bone in his foot.

However, Ferguson has claimed that the England international should be back in contention for a starting berth after the upcoming international break.

"We've got the squad to deal with all the games, we've got a really good squad," Ferguson told the club's official website. "After the international break, we'll have Chris Smalling back which will be another addition to our squad which is very important."

Smalling joined United from Fulham back in 2010.
