Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that he expects the club's three summer signings to remain at Manchester United for "many, many years".

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that he expects the club's three summer arrivals to have 'longevity' at Manchester United.

Despite being linked with a wide range of players, Solskjaer opted to bring in just Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Daniel James during the summer transfer window.

While acknowledging that the trio are required both in the short and long term, Solskjaer has indicated that the most important aspect regarding the additions is the potential to remain in the team for "many, many seasons".

The Norwegian told Sky Sports: "If you look at Aaron and Dan, 21-year-olds, they're coming in and doing a good job. We're not expecting them to be leaders, but they'll have longevity, and they'll stay in the club and the team for many, many years.

"Harry is a different player; he was the one centre-back we wanted, and the one we felt was the missing jigsaw in that defence. He was for now and the future, because he's only 26.

"I'm delighted with those three, both for now, and for the future. It's not just signing players for the sake of it, you have to sign the right ones."

Having parted ways with Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, Solskjaer is expected to be active in the transfer market at the beginning of 2020.
