Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly held talks with Fred to assure the midfielder that he is part of his plans between now and the end of the campaign.
United beat Manchester City to Fred's signature in last summer's transfer window, with the Red Devils believed to have paid in excess of £50m to secure his services.
The 25-year-old has only made 10 Premier League appearances this season, however, and has only played 64 minutes of league football since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in December.
According to Metro, Fred is in the plans of Solskjaer, though, with the Norwegian recently insisting that the midfielder would be given opportunities to impress in the remainder of the season.
Fred, who is a nine-time Brazil international, was an unused substitute in United's 1-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
