Manchester United Supporters' Trust against 'Moyes Out' plane banner

Vice chairman of the Manchester United Supporters' Trust Ian Stirling says that he is against fans hiring a plane to carry an anti-David Moyes banner over Old Trafford.

Vice chairman of the Manchester United Supporters' Trust Ian Stirling believes that hiring a plane to carry an anti-David Moyes banner over Old Trafford is the wrong move by the fans.

A number of supporters are growing increasingly frustrated with the United manager, and it has emerged that a fly-by protest will be held during Saturday's clash against Aston Villa.

Reports have claimed that the banner will carry the message, 'Wrong One - Moyes Out', in reference to the 'Chosen One' banner at Old Trafford that is in honour of the under fire Scotsman.

"I can understand their feelings, but it is not the way I would do it," Stirling told BBC Radio 5 live. "This is part of a bigger story about the appointment of David Moyes. He was the 'chosen one' and we had Sir Alex Ferguson on the pitch at Old Trafford telling the fans to get behind him.

"The 'Chosen One' banner should not have stayed longer than the Chelsea game at the start of the season. We now have a ridiculous situation where stewards are guarding it."

United have suffered 10 Premier League defeats under Moyes this season, and currently sit seventh in the table, 12 points adrift of a Champions League spot.
