Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that Morgan Schneiderlin's "energy and ability" will complement the players around him following his move to Old Trafford.
The Frenchman signed a four-year deal on Monday after United agreed a reported £24m fee with Southampton for the midfielder's services.
Schneiderlin's arrival was announced minutes after the club confirmed the signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich on a three-year deal.
Both players will travel with their new teammates to the United States for the club's pre-season tour this afternoon.
"Morgan is a very talented player with great energy and ability," Van Gaal told the club's official website. "His skills will complement the players that we already have and I am very pleased that we have been able to complete this deal before the tour to the United States.
"That training camp will be very important in our preparations for the new season and gives Morgan and the other players a chance to show our fans what they can achieve together."
Goalkeeper David de Gea, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, has been included in the squad travelling to the US.
