Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that new signing Memphis Depay has joined the right club in order to fulfil his potential.
Depay has left PSV Eindhoven to pen a four-year contract at Old Trafford, but Van Gaal, who coached Depay during his time with the Netherlands, has insisted that the attacker will require time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League.
Van Gaal told the club's official website: "I know Memphis well from our time working together in the Netherlands national team. He is a young versatile player who has the ability to play in a number of different positions.
"It will take time for Memphis to get used to the rhythm of the Premier League but I have no doubt that he has the potential to become a great footballer for this club and he is at the right club to continue the good work he has done so far."
The 21-year-old netted 28 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions last season.
