Ron Vlaar wants Aston Villa response

Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar says that he wants to secure a good result against Manchester United to make up for Sunday's heavy defeat to Stoke City.

Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar has said that he wants the team to put in a strong performance at Manchester United on Saturday following their defeat to Stoke City.

Stoke came from behind to beat Paul Lambert's side 4-1 at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon.

Vlaar has said that he wants to record a positive result at Old Trafford this weekend for the Villa supporters.

"It's burning inside of me now," he told the Birmingham Mail.

"It wasn't good enough and I'm also frustrated about my own game. It has to be better and I wanted to show I could play a good game.

"I look forward to the next game and want to play well again for myself and also for the team. We can get a result at Old Trafford, of course."

Villa currently occupy 11th place in the Premier League table.
