Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to remain at Old Trafford beyond the end of the January deadline, according to a report.

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is reportedly now highly unlikely to leave Old Trafford before the end of the January transfer window.

There has been huge speculation surrounding the defender's future with the Red Devils due to his struggles for action in the first half of the 2022-23 campaign.

However, a hamstring injury that Diogo Dalot suffered at the 2022 World Cup opened the door for Wan-Bissaka to enjoy a recent run in the side.

The 25-year-old has started the team's last three Premier League matches against Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth, while he featured as a substitute in the 3-0 success over Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Crystal Palace were thought to be interested in re-signing Wan-Bissaka, while West Ham United and Wolves have been credited with an interest in his services.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the Englishman is now expected to remain with Man United until at least the end of the campaign.

The report claims that Wolves defender Nelson Semedo was being monitored by the Red Devils, but a move for the Portuguese has now been shelved due to Wan-Bissaka's recent performances.

Speaking after the EFL Cup victory over Burnley last month, Man United head coach Erik ten Hag insisted that Wan-Bissaka still had a future at the club.

"Aaron Wan-Bissaka, it is clear he has a future (here)," Ten Hag told reporters. "He's had some good years with United, but from the start of this season he had a lot of illnesses and injuries, and so was running behind.

"His fitness levels are getting better, his performance levels are getting better.

"When you get an assist, especially the way he got that assist with his movement and the right moment, the timing and then great pass of course from Bruno (Fernandes). But this is great and so I'm happy with his performance. He did good."

Ahead of the World Cup, Wan-Bissaka's only football this season had been the final four minutes of the 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League at the end of August.

However, he was unavailable for selection for a long period due to a back problem, while illness had also kept him out in the first half of the campaign.

Man United will be bidding to make it nine straight wins in all competitions when they welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
