Sports Mole's Premier League Team of the Week

It was yet another thrilling weekend of Premier League action across Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of goals, drama and controversy.

Arsenal kept their place at the top of the table thanks to a tough win at Crystal Palace, while Liverpool stayed hot on their heels with a dominant victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Manchester United came from behind to claim a dramatic triumph over Stoke City, but Manchester City dropped more points due to a late defeat at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, there were important wins elsewhere for Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Southampton.

Here, Sports Mole picks out the 11 players who made their mark.

David de Gea (Manchester United)
The Spaniard dug his side out of a hole with a number of important saves as the champions came from behind to beat Stoke City at Old Trafford.

Bacary Sagna (Arsenal)
The right-back barely put a foot wrong at both ends of the pitch during the Gunners' hard-earned victory at Crystal Palace.
John Terry (Chelsea)
Chelsea were forced to soak up a lot of pressure against Manchester City, and Terry was central to their cause as they snatched a dramatic win.
Per Mertesacker (Arsenal)
Crystal Palace made life difficult for the Gunners at Selhurst Park, but Mertesacker gave an impressive performance in defence to help his side get the points.
Luke Shaw (Southampton)
The youngster looked composed both at the back and at the other end of the pitch during the Saints' comprehensive dismantling of Fulham.

Adam Lallana (Southampton)
Lallana pulled the strings for the high-flying Saints in midfield as they moved into the Champions League places with a win over Fulham.
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
While Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge got most of the plaudits for the Reds' victory over West Bromwich Albion, Gerrard was a typically-huge presence in the centre of the park.
Adam Johnson (Sunderland)
One of the most frustrating wingers in the Premier League, Johnson was at his busy best out wide during the Black Cats' vital win against local rivals Newcastle United.

Luis Suarez (Liverpool)
The controversial Uruguayan was at the peak of his powers versus West Bromwich Albion, with a sensational hat-trick earning the Merseysiders three comfortable points.
Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
The Red Devils looked uninspired for large parts of their match against Stoke City, but the striker got his team back into it with a superb equaliser as United went on to claim the win.
Fernando Torres (Chelsea)
A rejuvenated Torres was a model of persistence during Chelsea's win over Manchester City, working tirelessly throughout before being rewarded with the winning goal.

Joe Hart: A catastrophic mistake from the Manchester City goalkeeper cost his side a point against Chelsea as an unnecessary mix-up with teammate Matija Nastasic gifted Fernando Torres the decisive goal.
