Sir Alex Ferguson to help decide Louis van Gaal's fate?

Sir Alex Ferguson's opinion is reportedly being sought by Ed Woodward with regards to Louis van Gaal's future at Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly been drafted in to help decide the fate of current Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman has come under increasing pressure over recent weeks, having seen his side win none of their last games in all competitions, as well as being knocked out of both the Champions League and League Cup.

Speculation has claimed that Van Gaal has two matches to save his job at Old Trafford, with Jose Mourinho thought to be waiting in the wings.

According to The Mirror, Ferguson, who managed the club with such distinction from 1986 to 2013, was called in for meeting yesterday along with former chief executive David Gill by vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

The report adds that United's owners Joel and Avram Glazer have left Van Gaal's future in the hands of Woodward, who is keen to gain Ferguson's opinion on the situation.

It is believed that the Scot is an admirer of Van Gaal, but he is also thought to share a close relationship with Mourinho.
