How Manchester United could line up against Bournemouth

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up for their Premier League clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Manchester United will be looking to increase the pressure on the top four when they welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford for Saturday's Premier League clash.

The Red Devils go into the game following a dominant 3-0 victory away to Brighton & Hove Albion, with Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes on target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who now lie just two points adrift of the Champions League places.

United have managed to keep the momentum going from their impressive run of form before the coronavirus-enforced postponement, and victory over Bournemouth on Saturday would be their fourth on the bounce in all competitions.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how United could line up for the clash with relegation-threatened Cherries.

Solskjaer's only injury concerns are Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones, although neither player would be likely to break into the United first team at the minute.

The Norwegian manager has a near fully-fit squad to pick from at this crucial stage of the campaign, and Solskjaer may keep changes to a minimum given the manner of his side's victory against Brighton on the South Coast.

Paul Pogba has returned from injury in terrific fashion and slotted back into the United midfield like he had never left, and the Frenchman should keep his place in the team alongside Nemanja Matic, although Fred and Scott McTominay are both options for Solskjaer should he choose to shuffle the pack.

Pogba has also combined well with January signing Fernandes, who produced a Man-of-the-Match performance against the Seagulls in midweek, and the Portuguese midfielder is expected to retain his spot behind Anthony Martial.

Teenage prodigy Greenwood opened the scoring against Brighton in sublime fashion and is in line for another start on the right flank, although Daniel James could come into the side if Solskjaer decides to rest some key players amid a hectic fixture schedule.

Brandon Williams could potentially challenge Luke Shaw for a spot at left-back, although the latter was substituted just after the hour mark against Brighton and should not be in any real danger of losing his place.

Of course, United will be expected to cruise to victory against a Bournemouth side fighting for survival, but Solskjaer will not accept any complacency from his players and will no doubt endeavour to name his strongest lineup possible on Saturday afternoon.
