Arsenal, Chelsea 'keeping tabs on Luke Shaw'

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Luke Shaw's contract situation at Manchester United.

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on Luke Shaw's contract situation at Manchester United.

The 22-year-old has made just six Premier League starts for the club this season but has moved back into favour with manager Jose Mourinho, who recently claimed that the defender will be offered a new deal.

According to The Mirror, despite Mourinho's comments, talks over a new contract have yet to begin between the club and the player's representatives, alerting rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

The newspaper says that Shaw's camp are hopeful of increasing his wages from £80,000 a week to between £120,000 and £150,000 under a new deal with United, although the player could move to London should Mourinho have a change of heart and decide to sell him at the end of this season.

Shaw's current deal expires at the end of the 2018-19 season.
