Manchester United will reportedly hand Luke Shaw a new long-term contract before the end of the season.
Shaw looked to be heading for a January move away from Old Trafford after struggling for football in the first half of the 2017-18 campaign.
The 22-year-old has worked his way back into the first-team reckoning, however, and is now seen as a genuine challenger to Ashley Young for the left-back position in Jose Mourinho's strongest XI.
According to The Mirror, Mourinho has been delighted with Shaw's performances in recent weeks, and the Portuguese wants the defender to be offered a new deal.
Shaw's current contract at Old Trafford will run for another 18 months, but he could be in line for a pay increase after starting five of United's last seven Premier League matches.
United will attempt to make it back-to-back Premier League wins when they travel to struggling Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
