Arsenal are reportedly ready to move for West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone if they cannot get a deal over the line for Sheffield United's Aaron Ramsdale.
The Gunners are understood to have opened talks with the Blades over Ramsdale, who is currently with the England squad for their Euro 2020 campaign.
Despite their relegation to the Championship, Sheffield United are thought to be holding out for a fee in excess of £25m for the shot-stopper, which could force Arsenal to seek out alternative options.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal could therefore move for West Brom number one Johnstone, as the Baggies would likely sanction a sale around the £20m mark.
Doubts remain over the future of Bernd Leno at the Emirates, but the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and West Ham United have all been credited with an interest in Johnstone as well.
The 28-year-old is also with Gareth Southgate's team for the European Championship, and he kept six clean sheets in 37 Premier League matches last term.
