Arsenal and Manchester United will reportedly battle it out for the services of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer.

Arsenal and Manchester United will battle it out for the services of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer, according to reports.

The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from the Serie A club, and there has been much speculation surrounding a potential move to Arsenal.

Louis van Gaal is also said to be interested in signing the 27-year-old, as United prepare for the potential departures of both Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are hoping to keep Higuain, but may struggle as they are seven points off Champions League qualification for next season.

Higuain scored one goal in their 4-1 thrashing of Wolfsburg in the Europa League on Thursday.
