Arsenal are reportedly looking to include out-of-favour Henrikh Mkhitaryan in any deal to take Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of any deal to take Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

Sanchez is understood to have agreed terms with United over a £350,000-a-week switch to Old Trafford this month, with Arsenal set to receive a £30m transfer fee as part of the deal.

However, The Guardian reports that Arsenal are considering a last-ditch effort to include Mkhitaryan as part of the deal after manager Arsene Wenger acknowledged that they will need to replace Sanchez should he leave the club.

Mkhitaryan has fallen out of favour at United in recent months, with the 28-year-old starting just one Premier League game for the club since early November.

Arsenal's new head of scouting Sven Mislintat was the man who brought Mkhitaryan to Borussia Dortmund, while the Gunners were keen to sign the Armenia international before he joined United in 2016.

Wenger's side have also been linked with Bordeaux winger Malcom and Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
