Spanish journalist Guillem Balague plays down suggestions that Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao will join Manchester United on loan this month.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague does not believe that Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao will move to Manchester United on loan this month.

Various reports have suggested that the Portugal left-back will join the Premier League champions in this transfer window after a move fell through in the summer.

However, in an article for Bleacher Report, Balague has claimed that Madrid will only consider parting with the former Benfica defender if a transfer offer in the region of £20m is made.

It is believed that United are not prepared to make the move permanent this month.
