Daley Blind 'keeping feet on ground'

Ajax and Netherlands defender Daley Blind says that talk of a move to Manchester United will not play on his mind at the World Cup this summer.

Daley Blind has insisted that talk of a move to Manchester United will not play on his mind at the World Cup this summer.

The Ajax defender, who can also play in midfield, contributed two assists as Netherlands beat Spain 5-1 in their World Cup opener on Friday.

The 24-year-old has since been linked with a move to United, with national team head coach Louis van Gaal moving to Old Trafford next month.

However, Blind has claimed that talk surrounding his future can wait until after this summer's tournament.

"All the attention is a very big thing now, but I try not to think about it too much and will stay with my feet on the ground," he told reporters.

"The link with Manchester United is easily made because Robin [van Persie] is playing there and Van Gaal takes over next season."

A number of European clubs are also believed to be monitoring proceedings.
