Manchester United keen on signing Daley Blind?

Manchester United have been linked with a £12m move for Netherlands and Ajax star Daley Blind, according to reports from the Sunday Mirror.

Manchester United are interested in signing Ajax star Daley Blind in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the media.

The 24-year-old put in an impressive performance in the Netherlands' 5-1 victory over Spain on Friday, setting up two of the goals with fine passes.

Current Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal will take over at Old Trafford after the World Cup and, according to the Sunday Mirror, the 62-year-old is ready to launch a £12m move for the Dutch Footballer of the Year.

Blind, who is the son of Netherlands assistant Danny, started his career as a left-back, but has since been turned into a defensive midfielder at Ajax.

It is understood that United are close to confirming the signing of Luke Shaw from Southampton, which could mean that Blind is seen as the man to bring reinforcement to United's midfield.

Blind has earned 13 caps for Netherlands since making his debut in 2013.
