Manchester United have reportedly sounded out Douglas Costa over a move to the club, incase their pursuit of Angel di Maria hits a stumbling block.
A large amount of speculation this evening has claimed that United have grown increasingly confident that they will be able to sign the Real Madrid winger, with the deal potentially being concluded early next week.
However, should that move fall through, United would turn their attention to Shakhtar Donetsk's Costa, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The report added that talks have already taken place with the Brazilian playmaker's representatives, and he would command a smaller transfer fee and wages than Di Maria.
Costa, 23, has also been linked with the likes of AC Milan, Roma and Monaco.
