Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is reportedly keen to bring Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier to the club next year.
Trippier was strongly lined with a move to Manchester United over the summer, but the Red Devils could not come to an agreement with Atletico over a transfer fee.
Man United are still believed to be interested in the England international, but according to The Sun, Ralf Rangnick's team are likely to face strong competition from Newcastle.
The report claims that Magpies manager Howe is keen on a January deal for the right-back, who could potentially be available for a fee of around £25m.
Trippier would allegedly want 'big wages', but Newcastle would not have any problems meeting his demands due to their Saudi takeover, which has made them one of the richest clubs in the world.
The 31-year-old has impressed for Atletico since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2019, making 83 appearances in all competitions, contributing 11 assists in the process.
