Marouane Fellaini: 'I could have joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer'

Former Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini claims that he could have joined Paris Saint-Germain in last summer's transfer window.

Marouane Fellaini has claimed that he could have joined Paris Saint-Germain in last summer's transfer window.

Fellaini was strongly linked with a move away from Manchester United ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, before eventually signing a new contract with the 20-time English champions.

The midfielder recently left Old Trafford for the Chinese Super League, but he has revealed that PSG wanted to bring him to the French capital last summer.

"I think it was the right time to leave," Fellaini told Telefoot. "It's been ten and a half years since I was in England, I've had some great seasons. I wanted a new challenge and a new adventure and the time had come."

Meanwhile, when asked by the same outlet whether he could have moved to PSG last summer, Fellaini replied "yes".

Fellaini is now contracted to Chinese outfit Shandong Luneng Taishan, who also have former Southampton striker Graziano Pelle in their ranks.
