Former Manchester United attacker Ryan Giggs has paid tribute to the recent form of Anthony Martial and is hopeful that the Red Devils can keep the Frenchman.
Martial, 22, has scored four times in his last three Premier League appearances for United, but the attacker's current deal will expire at the end of the season.
The Frenchman is believed to have recently turned down a new contract, although the Red Devils do have the option of a one-year extension this summer.
Giggs has lavished praise on Martial for his recent form, and the Welshman has urged his former club to secure the future of the former Monaco youngster.
"It's been really good to see Martial hitting top form recently, he's a real crowd favourite and the type of player who gets you off your seat. He's been in really good form," Giggs told Sky Sports News.
"He's someone I've worked with when I was assistant at United, he's a really good lad, quite shy, a great professional and very talented, plus he's still only young, so from a United fan's perspective we all hope that we keep him.
"When you do start scoring your confidence is sky high and you think you can do anything with the ball and, when he is playing well and scoring, you can see in his body language that he's confident and always wants the ball - perhaps he tries things he wouldn't try if he wasn't scoring."
Martial has managed 41 goals and 26 assists in 147 appearances for United since arriving from Monaco in 2015.
