Dean Henderson gives Manchester United transfer ultimatum

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson reiterates that he will look for opportunities elsewhere if he does not break into the starting lineup at Old Trafford.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson has reiterated that he is prepared to explore 'different avenues' if he does not get a chance in the first team at Manchester United.

At a time when he continues to impress while on loan at Sheffield United, Henderson has watched current Man United number one David de Gea come in for widespread criticism.

Although the young Englishman has backed the Spaniard to respond in positive fashion, he has hinted that he will not wait around for an opportunity at Old Trafford.

Speaking to TV3, Henderson said: "I think it's clear for everyone to know. I want to play for Manchester United and England. It feels like I always hit a brick wall. Maybe I'll get the opportunity [to play for Man United], maybe I won't, then I'll have to look down a different avenue.

"The fans have to remember what he's (De Gea) done for the last nine years - he's been phenomenal. He's probably been the best player at United for that time period. He should get another opportunity.

"I'm a young lad. I'm working hard. I'm a fan of the club and I want to play for them. Hopefully I have a career at Man United like David de Gea has."

Henderson currently has two years remaining on his United contract.
