Manchester City will make a big-money move for Sporting Lisbon's Nuno Mendes this summer, according to a report.

Manchester City are reportedly planning a big-money move for Sporting Lisbon's Nuno Mendes.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in European football and has enjoyed an impressive season for Sporting, scoring once and providing two assists in 34 outings in all competitions.

A number of leading European sides, including Manchester United, have been credited with an interest in his services, but according to the Daily Mail, Man City are at the head of the queue.

The report claims that Pep Guardiola's side are lining up a £52m offer for Mendes and have already made contact with the teenager's agent to discuss a switch to the Etihad Stadium.

Man City could allegedly attempt to include Pedro Porro as part of the deal, with the Spanish right-back currently on loan at Sporting from the English champions.

Mendes, meanwhile, is said to be keen on a switch to the Premier League in the upcoming market.
