Manchester United have accepted defeat in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland, according to a report.
The Norwegian international has been heavily linked with a move away from the German club, with a variety of top European teams being interested in his signature, including the Red Devils.
However, it was recently reported that the striker is closing in on agreeing to a deal with their local rivals Manchester City for the upcoming summer transfer market.
According to the Daily Star, Manchester United have now internally accepted defeat in their pursuit of the 21-year-old, and instead, they are set to move on to other targets.
Haaland has made 15 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 18 goals across those games, while he has also featured in five matches within other competitions, where he added another seven to his tally for the season.
Manchester United relied upon Cristiano Ronaldo in their most recent outing, as his hat-trick helped the club to secure the win, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-2.
