Manchester United could re-sign West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United could reportedly make an attempt to re-sign West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Sam Johnstone during this summer's transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been in impressive form for the Baggies during the 2020-21 campaign and is expected to leave the Hawthorns in the upcoming market.

Tottenham Hotspur - potentially in the market for a Hugo Lloris replacement - continue to be linked with the stopper, who recently earned a call into the senior England squad.

However, according to The Sun, Man United are considering bringing Johnstone back to Old Trafford ahead of the 2021-22 season.

The report claims that the Red Devils will target the Englishman if either David de Gea or Dean Henderson leaves this summer, with both players unlikely to be at the club next term.

Johnstone represented Man United between 2009 and 2018 but never made a senior appearance for the 20-time English champions, ultimately leaving on a permanent basis to join West Brom.
