A report claims that Manchester United scout Jim Lawlor watched Radamel Falcao score two goals for Atletico Madrid at the weekend.

One of Manchester United's senior scouts was reportedly in attendance as Radamel Falcao scored twice for Atletico Madrid yesterday afternoon.

Reports in Spain last week claimed that the Premier League leaders are keen to sign the Colombian international, who is also believed to be a target of Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was quick to dismiss the speculation at the weekend, but he still sent Jim Lawlor to the Vicente Calderon to watch Atletico take on Granada, according to The Times.

Falcao claimed the second and third goals as his side ran out 5-0 winners.
