Report: Manchester United to meet Barcelona over Pedro

Manchester United will reportedly meet with Barcelona in the United States this weekend to discuss a £20m move for Spanish winger Pedro.

Manchester United have reportedly edged closer to the signing of Pedro from Barcelona.

The two European powerhouses meet in a pre-season friendly on Saturday in California, and representatives from the two clubs and the player will sit down this weekend to discuss the transfer, according to ESPN.

The release clause in the Spaniard's contract is believed to be £21m and he is considering a move away after making just 15 La Liga starts last season.

Pedro, who has 51 international caps with Spain, has never made more than 28 league starts in a season for Barca.

If he does join United, Pedro could replace Angel di Maria, who is thought to be closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
