Manchester United, Chelsea in the race for Zenit St Petersburg's Axel Witsel

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.

Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.

The Belgium international is believed to be a top target for Italian giants Juventus, who are said to be considering potential candidates to replace Paul Pogba or Arturo Vidal.

Witsel also appears to have attracted interest from the Premier League as United are believed to have spoken to the player's camp regarding a possible move, while Chelsea are also keen, but are yet to make a firm offer, according to La Gazetta dello Sport.

The 26-year-old joined Zenit from Benfica in 2012.
