Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly considering a shock move for Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly considering a move for out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

The 33-year-old is thought to be unhappy at being left out by Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas in recent weeks.

United have been linked with a number of midfielders following long-term injuries to Ashley Young, Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher.

The England international would be tempted to move to the Premier League champions, according to the Daily Mail.

Lampard has 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.
