Manchester United allegedly feel that Alexis Sanchez failed to make an impact at Old Trafford due to the pressures of playing for a big club.

Members of Manchester United's coaching staff allegedly feel that Alexis Sanchez struggled to deal with the pressure of representing the Premier League giants.

Much was expected of the Chile international when he left Arsenal for Old Trafford in January 2018, but just five goals came from 45 outings in all competitions up until the end of last season.

Despite United's lack of strength in depth going forward, that has resulted in the attacker being allowed to link up with Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal.

However, according to Metro, some of those behind the scenes feel that Sanchez was never going to adapt to life at the club given the extra weight of responsibility.

The report adds that there was a feeling that the 30-year-old did not feel comfortable when it came to trying to justify his large wage packet.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that Sanchez could still have a future at the club.
