A report claims that Rennes left-back Faitout Maouassa is a transfer target for Manchester United, while fellow Premier League side Newcastle United may also make a move.

Manchester United are reportedly in the running to sign versatile full-back Faitout Maouassa from Rennes.

The 21-year-old has featured 26 times in Ligue 1 at left-back this term and is also capable of playing in left midfield.

Maouassa helped Rennes to third place in the French top flight before the coronavirus pandemic halted play and apparently caught the eye of United scouts.

According to L'Equipe, the Red Devils may now make a move for the Frenchman at the end of the campaign.

United could face competition from Newcastle United, however, with the Premier League side potentially set to receive a £200m cash injection.
