Manchester United are allegedly prepared to walk away from negotiations for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Over the past week, United have been heavily linked with the Portugal international, who is said to have agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants.
However, the two clubs have reportedly reached an impasse regarding a fee, with Sporting wanting £68m including add-ons.
According to ESPN, United have no intention of meeting those demands, instead insisting on limiting any bid to £60m.
The report adds that United are happy to test Sporting's resolve by walking away from negotiations, rather than paying what they deem to be over the odds.
Ideally, Sporting need to cash in on their star man to ease their financial problems.
