Manchester United set £2m asking price for Bastian Schweinsteiger

Manchester United will reportedly accept offers of as little as £2m for outcast midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer.

Manchester United have placed an asking price of just £2m on outcast midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to reports.

The 32-year-old has been told that he has no future at the club and has been forced to train with the youth team since manager Jose Mourinho's arrival.

Schweinsteiger is not even expected to be given reserve-team football this season as Mourinho does not want the World Cup winner blocking the development of the club's younger players.

German newspaper Bild claims that United would be willing to let Schweinsteiger leave Old Trafford for as little as £2m, just one year after joining from Bayern Munich in a £7m deal.

Juventus have been credited with an interest in the former Germany international as they look for a replacement for Schweinsteiger's new United teammate Paul Pogba, although they are understood to be considering a move for Blaise Matuidi first.

Schweinsteiger's £190,000-a-week wages are the biggest stumbling block to any move, though, with few clubs willing to pay such a large fee following the midfielder's disappointing 2015-16 campaign.
