Manchester United allegedly remain £7m short of meeting Sporting Lisbon's valuation of Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United have reportedly yet to meet Sporting Lisbon's valuation of midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Despite claims that negotiations have been ongoing since the start of the month, United still find themselves trying to win the race to sign the Portugal international.

There have been varying suggestions regarding the player's asking price, although Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nico Schira says that Sporting would be willing to accept £62m.

However, Schira also adds that United have indicated that they are only willing to pay £55m, leaving the Premier League giants £7m short of completing a deal.

Fernandes has recently acknowledged that he would like to play in England at some stage of his career.
