Manchester United have reportedly been in touch with Monaco to discuss a potential deal for Axel Disasi during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been with Monaco since 2020, making 108 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit in all competitions, contributing 10 goals and four assists in the process.
Disasi has again been a vital player for the principality club this term, scoring four goals and registering four assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Meanwhile, the defender was a part of the France squad that made the final of the 2022 World Cup, featuring on three occasions for the Blues at the competition in Qatar.
Disasi is primarily a centre-back, but he is also capable of playing as a right-back, which is said to have made him an attractive proposition for Man United.

According to Telefoot, Man United have contacted Monaco to determine whether it would be possible to sign the versatile defender before the end of the winter market, while a summer move is also said to be a possibility.
Disasi started his professional career at Paris FC before making the move to Reims, and he has now featured on 111 occasions in Ligue 1, in addition to gaining experience of Champions League and Europa League football during his time with Monaco.
Man United are currently well-stocked in the middle of their defence, but Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are set to leave on free transfers this summer, while club captain Harry Maguire is also likely to depart.
As a result, the Red Devils could be looking for a fourth centre-back to complement Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof.

Man United have only made two loan signings in January, bringing in Jack Butland from Crystal Palace and Wout Weghorst from Burnley, with the latter scoring his first goal for the club in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.
However, a recent report claimed that the Red Devils could bring another forward to Old Trafford before the end of the window, while the club's head coach Erik ten Hag has also suggested that there could be further January additions.
"I think as Manchester United you always have to look for solutions, and always you have to look for better and that is what we will do," the Dutchman told reporters.
"We will be doing our research and if there are opportunities, we have to go for it."
Man United will be bidding to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup when they welcome Championship outfit Reading to Old Trafford on Saturday night.
