Juan Mata's move to Manchester United won't be completed until next week?

Juan Mata may have to wait until next week to complete his move to Manchester United from Chelsea.

Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata may not complete his switch to Manchester United until next week.

The Spaniard was expected to finalise a reported £37m transfer to Old Trafford from Stamford Bridge before the weekend after the two clubs reached an agreement.

While reports have claimed that Mata was due for a medical in the North-West city last night, Chelsea's move for Basel winger Mohamed Salah has delayed proceedings.

It has since emerged that United could complete the capture by the end of the weekend at the earliest, but there is a possibility that the details will not be finalised until next week, according to The Mirror.

Despite the delay, it is understood that United officials remain confident that the deal will go through.
