Napoli are reportedly keen on securing a deal for Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe during the January transfer window.
Having failed to make a sustained impact in the first team at Old Trafford, the centre-back was loaned out to Aston Villa in the summer.
However, while the 24-year-old has made six starts and three substitutes in the Premier League, he has been provided with just eight minutes since the arrival of Steven Gerrard in November.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli have already initiated contact with United in order to take over the agreement for the remainder of the campaign.
The Italian giants, who have recently lost top spot in the Serie A standings, require a replacement for Kalidou Kouibaly, at least in the short term while he is at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The report suggests that a move will go through providing that Napoli are willing to meet United's financial demands.
