Newcastle United have reportedly made contact with Napoli to discuss a potential move for Kalidou Koulibaly during this summer's transfer window.
The Magpies are allegedly nearing a change of ownership with a Saudi consortium potentially buying the club from Mike Ashley.
The Premier League outfit would seemingly have considerable transfer funds if the deal goes through, and according to Foot Mercato, the club are already making plans for the upcoming window.
The report claims that Steve Bruce's side have been in contact with Napoli over the possibility of signing Koulibaly in a £70m deal ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The Senegal international has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
However, a recent report claimed that United did not view the centre-back as an 'essential target' despite holding a long-standing interest in his services.
