Kane advised to leave Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur frontman Harry Kane has been advised by ex-Liverpool defender Glen Johnson to leave the club in the near future. The England skipper has been central to Spurs' league success over the last few years but with the club now seemingly in a slump, Johnson thinks the time is right for him to move on.
"If I was in Harry's shoes, I would think that I can play elsewhere and have a much better chance of playing with better players and adding trophies to my cabinet," Johnson told BetDaq. "In a couple of years his goals could dry up at Spurs and he'd be out the door. There's no loyalties in football and he has to look after himself first and foremost.
"I don't think he'd be suited to the Spanish style of playing, so he might have to wait for Sergio Aguero to move on at City before going there, but it's not out of the question that could happen in my opinion. If I was Harry, I know what I'd do, I'd be moving on for the sake of my career to win as much as I could."
Bordeaux suspend three players after attack
Bordeaux have suspended three youth players after they assaulted a teammate to the point he needed hospital treatment, according to ESPN. The altercation is said to have started after the under-17s team lost a game with Nantes leading to the attack 48 hours later. All four players are aged 16 and have not been named.
Wenger happy without managerial role

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is happy watching football from the sidelines for now. The Frenchman expected to return to a managerial role soon after he left the Emirates in May 2018 but despite receiving multiple offers, he has opted to continue his sabbatical.
"At the moment I manage myself and that's not easy because I have much more time available and I follow football and still work in television, conferences and charities," Wenger told talkSPORT. "Yes of course I miss it but I had many opportunities in fairness and until now I decided to have some time to take off.
"Maybe the longer I wait, the less I will want to go back! I decided to take some time off to observe and look back a little bit and observe what is happening around. It's quite interesting."
Van Persie thinks Solskjaer is "struggling"

Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has said that he is unconvinced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has questioned whether he is the right man to sort out the club's issues. United lost at struggling Newcastle United just before the international break and speaking to reporters afterwards, Solskjaer said that his side "needed to sort their heads out" and were lacking in confidence.
"You can see he's struggling there, if I'm really honest, during that interview," Van Persie told Optus Sport. "And I get it if you're manager of Manchester United during this period of time. So he's searching for words, maybe he chose a few wrong ones there. Because as a player, what does that mean? 'Sorting the players' heads out', what does that mean? If you're a player you're a little bit like, 'my head is fine'.
"Even though you can see the players are low in confidence, he needs to find a way to reconnect again and to get their confidence high. As a manager, when your team is low in confidence, get them up. When your team is too high in confidence, when they are becoming a little bit too much, you have to get them back to the middle again. At the moment, based on this interview, and based on what I've seen in the game, I'm not sure if he really knows how to find the buttons there."
Alexander-Arnold: 'I owe Klopp everything'

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp, saying that he owes his manager "everything". The German handed the 21-year-old his Reds debut in 2016 and has gone on to make him an integral part of a side that are in pole position for the Premier League title.
"[I owe him] everything, really. Without him, who knows what would have happened," Alexander Arnold told Sky Sports News. "He's the one that's given me the most opportunities - more opportunities than I could even ask for. He's put a lot of trust and faith in me personally and I've tried to repay him every time he's done that."
Tomori admits "difficult" England decision

Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori has admitted that it was a tough decision to represent England at an international level. The 21-year-old is in Gareth Southgate's squad for the Three Lions' Euro 2020 qualifiers this month but could also have represented Canada, having been born there, or Nigeria through family ties.
"It wasn't England all the way," Tomori is quoted as saying by The Guardian. "I had certain people and certain things that I had to consider. I spoke to my family and people that I care about and that's the decision I came to. So when England came calling, it was difficult to say no. England is obviously such a big nation, as well as Nigeria and Canada coming up, so I think I was going to be happy with whoever called me up, but it's nice it is England."
Lille chief offers himself to United
Lille chief executive Luis Campos has suggested that he would be a good addition to Manchester United as their new sporting director. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have had a tough start to the new season, taking just nine points from their first eight league games, but Campos believes a new role would help get the club back on the right track.
"I know very well the situation of Manchester United and other clubs – but, in my opinion, everybody needs a sporting director," he told Sky Sports News. "The coach needs time to prepare for the next match and the super ego of the players too, so he needs people with sensibility. If a coach is alone it's more difficult now.
"Manchester United is an amazing club with an amazing story and for people around the world, it's difficult to understand what has happened to this club. Of course I believe I could help Manchester United. I want to work with a big club one day. But the Lille project gives me big pleasure because when I arrived we were in difficulty. I am happy here – so only a special situation will make me change a project."
City have time-limited buyback on Garcia
Manchester City have the ability to buy back Manu Garcia from Sporting Gijon but only inside the next two years, according to the Manchester Evening News. The 21-year-old signed for the Spanish second-tier side in a club-record £3.5m deal over the summer but can move back to the Etihad before 2021 if City decide to pay "significant" compensation.
Gijon sporting director Miguel Torrecilla said: "They have an option to take him back, but it would generate a significant profit for us. They have two years to buy him back. I don't want to go into numbers, but we would be talking about one of the best deals in the history of Sporting."
