Jamie O'Hara believes that former club Tottenham Hotspur should cash in on Harry Kane, who has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Jamie O'Hara has urged former club Tottenham Hotspur to cash in on Harry Kane if the striker wants to leave North London.

Speculation over Kane's future has grown in recent days after the 26-year-old admitted that he would consider leaving if he felt that the club were no longer on track to win trophies.

Spurs are understood to have slapped a £200m asking price on their star striker in an attempt to ward off interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City, but O'Hara believes that a sale would benefit both parties.

"Is Harry Kane's ambition to win a League Cup? Because that's where Tottenham are looking at the moment. They're nowhere near the Premier League and I don't think they can do the heroics they did in the Champions League again either – are they even going to be in it [next season]?" O'Hara told talkSPORT.

"Tottenham need to rebuild; they've got to bring in four or five new players to really change that team and get them playing where they need to be.

"I can understand Harry's frustration, and he's getting to the point now where he's a world-class footballer who is worth a lot of money, and if the trophies are not going to come in the next two or three seasons at Spurs, which is looking likely, do they get rid of him and cash in?

"If you're going to sell Harry Kane, you've got to sell him at his peak – and he's at his peak now in terms of his market value."

Kane is already third on the list of all-time Tottenham scorers, although he is still 85 behind record-holder Jimmy Greaves.
